DevStation: Efficient Homelab Management Tool
DevStation is a powerful CLI tool designed for managing homelabs by simplifying the setup of virtual environments. It allows users to describe their infrastructure as a topology, which includes clusters, nodes, and virtual machines. The tool provisions these VMs on Proxmox and installs necessary services via SSH, making it easy to recreate setups as needed. With a single binary installation, users can get started quickly without the hassle of learning complex hypervisor interfaces or infrastructure as code languages.
The application features a terminal user interface (TUI) that guides users through the process of creating and managing their homelab environments. Key capabilities include a topology model that separates infrastructure from logical services, a local vault for secure credential management, and a blueprint system for service installations. DevStation is currently in pre-alpha, focusing on development and homelab environments, and aims to bridge the gap between hardware availability and useful infrastructure.
